leftlane
'91 Legacy wagon. My heater controls went out and I completely removed the entire box and the vent door cable down to the door.It was about 15 degrees out and I run a paper route so this was a desperation move.I had no power at the switch leads to the fan speed control.I cut the two leads that come out of the kick panel on the passenger side to the blower.I connected the hot lead to the power wire for my cigarette lighter and the ground to a vacant ground lead I had.Now I have heat and a big gaping hole in my dash.Well now my windows don't work.My dash lights don't work. My seat belt retractors don't work and my tach and gas guage no longer works.Any help will be greatly appreciated as it is snowing like made outside and I have to go run a route at about midnight tonight.Searched these forums for a clue and hunted all over for a wiring diagram.Found nothing. The link to the stuff on experiencetherave.com doesn't work anymore. Please help. leftlane
Well I found the problem. Last night after I got to the store I checked the fuses again. The bottom left hand fuse called Meter was blown. It looked ok but I saw a slight dark color on the side and I put the radio fuse in it and everything worked again! So I bought fuses and straightened them all out.Don't always assume a fuse is good because of a visible inspection. Thanks again brus and happy subies to all. All that "MacGyver"-rigging in your car and a little fuse was the problem? Jeez! It's amazing how the smallest parts can put the biggest dents in our lives.
