stvgsr Posted March 15, 2005 Share Posted March 15, 2005 Hi my name is steve and i'm new here. I just bought a brand new 05 Gt and heard about this site from one of my friends. I think that i have a bit of a problem with my clutch... it doesn't work. my car is stuck at my house and now i have to get it towed to my local dealership. i realize that it is covered under warranty, but i've heard a little rumor about clutch problems with this car. i guess what i'm looking for is A: do these cars really have clutch problems... B: will it happen again... and C: are there any other issues with this car that i should know about. The Dude Posted March 15, 2005 Share Posted March 15, 2005 Never assume that a clutch will be handled under warranty. Most car manufacturers would rather french kiss a hot tail pipe than honor a clutch warranty. If there's an actual broken part, you're probaly OK. If it's a wear issue, they'll try to stick to the owner almost everytime. Funny, because most car manufacturers will honor an AT warranty without even a word. MY experience with japanese clutches is they are all diaphram models that if you rev them to high and dump the clutch it won't engage, usually just fries.
