Sometimes the Valve covers are referred to as Cam covers and there are gaskets for them. But you say you are changing a check valve spring, the only one of those I'm aware of is in the oil pump. The oil pump has 2 seals, one for the shaft and an o-ring known as the Mickey mouse o-ring which goes between the pump and the engine block.
