old97 Posted April 8, 2005 Share Posted April 8, 2005 If yours is still in one piece, 1) Take it out of the dash (two screws) 2) Soak it in a dilute solution of Mr. Clean or any other degreaser/cleaner of your choice 3) Rinse thoroughly 4) Apply graphite, etc. to the sliding mechanism and open/close to make sure it is all greased up 5) Reinstall Had problems with mine sticking on all but the warmest days due to a previous owner's soda mishaps. The syrup gels up nicely when cool. Found soda residue all throughout the dash cavity while I was putting in a new cd player. It should work like a charm after doing the procedure I described.
