kidwired
I've been reading on this a bit but still dont understand everything that would be needed. I found an ad for WRX factory exhaust "fits 02/03 wrx.. full exhaust system including up-pipe to muffler.. very good shape, price is firm.. " $100 Does that sound like everything I need? except the muffler I guess? Chris
calebz
The downpipe shold fit. As well as the second DP piece and the mid pipe (although the mid pipe may require a custom hanger. Not sure if the tailpipe /muffler piece will fit or not. The uppipe won't fit as far as I know. Main reason being that the flange that the turbo mounts on is different. Now if you were to change from the VF11 to a TD04, you may have better luck there, but I don't know if the EJ22 uppipe is more like the EJ20 or if its integrated like the EA82
kidwired
I am considering a tdo4 swap, wondering if this wouldnt make it easier. I understand the wrx up-pipe has a 3rd cat in it I dunno I guess my pipes are 2" and the wrx is 2.25", seems like alot of work for not much gain. A custom 3" is sounding a better option. offroadsubaruguy
you will have to lenghten the mid pipe section by at least 6 inches or so.... im not sure if the down pipe sticks farther out than the stock y pipe does on the na cars...... i tried to fit one and the flanges are different, and the mid section is seriously short........ but should be easy to lengthen..... just my .
kidwired
heres what I have found out, turbo legacy and wrx exhaust are the same diameter etc. Even the left side manifold is the same part #. We both have cats in DP, the WRX however has a cat in the header. No real performance to be gained.....anywhere. Well except that now I will replace my 12 yr old exhaust w/ a 2mo old exhaust, not bad. I am going to cut the cats out of the wrx system and install it. Then I will put the nice new cats in my old midpipe so I can swap it in for smog testing. Caleb, you just answered my question.
