TCS on the dash on 2nd Gen Lib/Legacy

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

In my 2nd Generation Libert (Australian Model) Legacy for you guys, I have an small "TCS" display on bottom right corner on my dash, there is no globe in it, but added one in, but only can see it in the sun or torch... what is TCS, I've looked in the owners books, not there, what is it??

Something to do with Traction Control isn't it?

If it is, how do i find out if i have one or its an unit that you can add on or what? just wanna know more info about the TCS thingo!

Thankyou guys.

Speaking of US models so the could be some year differences but... in 1995 subaru mad a 2wd legacy (2nd gen legacy). These models came with TCS (traction control sys.) This was Subaru's cheap alternative for people who didn't want to pay for the AWD but wanted a soob. Here in the US in 1996 subaru went AWD standard on all models so the TCS became a moot issue. I have only seen two TCS equiped legacy's in my life...one in 1995 and one about a year ago on a car lot in the middle of nowhere.

The TCS basically controls wheel spin using brake force to slow a spinning wheel. It works in conjunction with the ABS on the car. If you want to screw with it... mash the gas and see the difference on/off. Have fun.... :brow:
