has anyone heard of a v chip or v check i brought my car to subaru cause it had been running like ************ i thought it was a fuel sensor or pump cause i have been racking mt brain trying to figure out what is wrong they told me my v chip was connected they told me the v chip is connected when the car gets to the dealer and thatt they disconnect them before the car is sold my car is a 1996 legacy gt is it possible this chip has been connected for 10 yrs ? now thta they disconnected it the car runs fine i want to no more info on this v chip thing

They may have been talking about a set of plugs connected to run the factory diagnostics. Mechanicas sometimes use them to acess codes and digagnose the problems, but I think your car is OBDII and did away with that. Leaving diagnostic connectors together can make the car run cr*ppy, It often locks the timing in.
