I'm a relatively new convert, my wife and I just having purchased a 2004 Forester XT 2.5 and loving every minute of it. Wish I had been able to convince the wife to let me trade in our RX-8 for an STi, but that was too hard a sell

Greetings fellow Subie Enthusiasts...

Welcome! Does the Rx-8 have AWD? Think Safety!
People on this board have helped me with everything from my sube, to my moms chevy, to plumbing repairs. There's plenty of great people and info here!
Congrats on the Forrester!

Subaru's are great,
I've had one of mine for 23 years so far...
Our Forester does everything we ask it to.
(except climb steep hills
)

Thanks for the replys guys and/or gals!
Here's the thing about the RX-8 vs. STi discussions my wife and I have:
Things we enjoy about the 8:
1) The look 8
2) It's silky smooth acceleration and lively engine
3) The refined 8 interior and seating
4) The great interest rate on the loan we have for the 8 - it is about 1 percentage point less than what we would be able to get on any new purchase
She dislikes the following about the STi:
1) The spoiler
2) The 'bling bling' wheels
These are what I enjoy about the STi:
1) the AWD performance
2) the improved gas mileage
3) the safety features of the Impreza class
So, its really a toss up - but I found a used STi, silver, with the gold wheels (urk) for about $30,000

I have a '91 Miata. And an '01 OBW.
Would love to have an RX-8. Your wife as great taste.

Get the silver wheels on the STi...they are not to bad...
And the spoiler could come off.

how hard is it to take off the spoiler and how much is required to replace it with, say, a WRX Spoiler?

Well, looks like I will be keeping the 8 - I dont think anyone is going to give me the money I would need for it to keep the monthy payments as low on an STi as it is right now for me on the 8.
Thanks everyone!
Thanks everyone!
