if you roll your car, it is possible that you could stick your arm out and get it broken, cut, broken off.....in wagons you can keep the rear windows down, if no one is riding back there. Up front you can keep your window down like 2 or 3 inches. Moon roofs can be opened 2 or 3 inches as well.

Find an older sube with the 3rd eye and take everything, relay switch, etc. For the install, take the welded-in front brace in the middle of the radiator support and chop in out. Insert the older crossmember that holds the light in. Mine bolted right up, the hole were already there. then mark the grill and break out the dremel.

I ended up taking it out because I installed the winch bumper and the third eye set-up is specific for that bumper.

I still have all the goodies, including the modified grill.

Dammit,These rallycrosses are only a winding closed course maked by big tires, high grass and trees. I don't recall any cones, but I'm sure they were there to mark course direction. If you go off course usually end up being a DNF because of damage or stuck car. Straight timed runs. Penalties for cones.

Yeah, I'm sure there were cones.

Harpua, I'll take some pictures and Email them to you of the grill and such when I get another digital camera. Mine was stolen Fri. night.

I do run in 4wd when rallycrossing the GL. Seems to be easier to control braking when you can gear down and drag all four.

Didn't say it was the fastest, just easier.

Oil from the breather, back to the intake and straight into the cylinder. Makes for a BOND type show. Ugh. So embarrassing. I have since fixed this problem

go here, it is more pics of that same event....surf around on that page, and you will find more pics....

I just realized that your hatch is the same color as what i want to paint my hatch....but mine will have less chrome. Is that paint factory paint, or aftermarket?

I am excited to see more pics of your hatch.....thats a bummer about your camera....people suck sometimes.

Galen, we have a whole group of people "racing" EA81s (see the post on the results of the last rallycross). Better yet, come down to Hillsboro, OR next weekend and see (and run) for yourself!

http://www.oregonrally.com/. Check the results link for information. Local USMB people are running 1st four overall in the truck/suv class currently. Join the fun!

Just another comment: I recently joined SCCA and declared Oregon as my "local" region. When NW Region gets going on rallycross, I'll change allegiance; but so far there seems to be no interest in getting events started up here.

Love that 323 GTX. I almost bought one until I found that the car was rusting from the inside out. Would never pass tech for clubrally unless the entire section of the chassis that supported the strut towers was replaced. Designed for Group A. Double floorpan, short wheelbase, shifts nice too. Power was low for pavement, but felt really nice on gravel/dirt.

I've yanked a few third eyes from the JY and I've never had to hack out anything welded.. I unbolt the whole radiator support from behind the hood latch and everything. Also I don't believe it will fit on an EA82 car since the EA82 car's hood latch is in the way. Unless one has hood pins? :)
