Allways loved Subarus, in fact, 6 months ago my '87 brat was stolen and never recovered a day after I purchased it .

Now my Sis is looking for one ~2001-2003. Outback or Forrester? Whats a good mileage for those years? Special concerns? What can she expect for 12-14K?

Thanks

It looks like it's in great shape cosmetically! I would definitely give this one a second look if I was in the market. Did you run a carfax? I would do that or ask on this board to see if someone will do it for you. See if the owner has good service records, ask about Head Gasket issues...notorious on the 2.5 engines. Other than that, I think the price is actually very good already but you may be able to negotiate a little...let us know how you make out.

Yeah, that's a shame. I guess that was worth the $24.95. Let us know if you find anything else.

After car shopping again, brought home another one 2 weeks ago.Not a sube, 1999 LeSabre(had to have seating for 6), but last weekend stayed up and watched the movies "Used Cars", which we had quoted from to the salesman at the dealership during the test drive/negotiations(he had seen the movie also).

If you haven't seen it, it says it all. And private sellers can be just as bad as dealers.
