30thAnnivSS Posted June 5, 2005 Share Posted June 5, 2005 Check Engine Light (CEL) came on about two months ago on our 1999 Forester. The SUV is very hesitant under lower acceleration when moving for the first time or setting awhile. Appears to clear up after gaining speed but CEL is always on. Changed the fuel filer but is still an issue. Had AutoZone pull the code and it was PO335 or PO325. Any thoughts? Thanks if advance for your assistance. Any thoughts on why the knock sensor would cause hesitation under lower acceleration when moving for the first time or setting awhile? The Dude Posted June 7, 2005 Share Posted June 7, 2005 The knock sensor retards the engine timing when it detects knocking. This has the effect of decreasing the octane requirement of the engine, and hopefully stops the knocking.
