Hi Everybody This is Jerry, on May 10 my brat got rear ended and totaled. Well the kid didn't have insurance and i had to get my insurance co. to pay. They wanted to give me 2600.00 for my brat and i told them not a chance. I told them 5 grand and i keep my brat well they said no way. Well guess what after all my research i finally got a grand total of 5142.35 with a 100.00 deduct and to buy it back it was 804.00 whitch left me 4242.35. It's not all that i wanted but it is all i can get without getting a lawyer. Now the lawyer comes in on the medical side of this, i wil get my total of 5 grand and keep my brat. Just to let everybody know do your research and you can get a fair price out of your car. Thanks Jerry

Jerry, I'm so glad to hear you got close to what you wanted for your Brat.
Could you share some of your research on Brat values?

Awesome! I hope that cool console you made with the GM stereo retrofited in made it thru the accident that is worth putting into your next Brat.

Glad to hear you won this one. Couldn't have gone to a nicer guy! Best if luck finding a replacement. Apparently the insurance company finally saw the light when they placed the salvage value at $800!

I was crossing my fingers for you, good to hear that you won the fight. After talking to Ed about insurance replacement values awhile back and then your accident, since then I've been printing out Ebay prices and what the ones in the Sea. Times advertise for. Good to hear you bought it back from them too, now you can put the piston gear shift knob on your next BRAT.-Brian.

Hey Boz This is Jerry, what i did is find other brats that were in the same condition as my brat was and what they were selling for. I used autotrader.com and cars.com and also ebay.com. I also used this board i have a file about 2 inches thick on my brat. The main thing i did was to tell the adjuster that they have to fix or replace my brat. After looking real close at all the brats for sale he finally seen what i was talking about how much these brats sell for. My next brat will be apraised at a stated value i am not going to that again. Me and the apraiser went around and around several times, at 1 time i though i was going to hit him he made me so mad. All i can say if you got the time wait them out. Thanks Jerry

Jerry, you are a saint! Hard to believe you almost resorted to physical violence. But insurance guys can do that to you. Best of luck with the new one.
