Matty B
G'day all, Do headers (extractors) make a signifiacant difference to a pretty stock EJ22? I have a set of factory engine pipes if I want them, or I can get a set bent up to exactly fit the Wonder Brumby's existing 2 1/4 inch system.... I want this thing torquey rather than a rev orientated tune. Will a factory set fit under a Brumby's cross member? Gracias. Matt
NoahDL88
the stock headers fit under a 80 wagon no problem, so the 86 should be no problem. the exhaust is where the most power can be made from subie engines, it seems that way at least. so if you have the opportunity, i'd make the headers yourself. ballitch
I beleive the stock piping size is like 1.25 inches, so a 1.75'' or 2'' diameter would net you some better power, but it will move the power band up a thousand or so RPM's. but dont forget to open up the intake a bit also, no sense opening the bottom-end, to only be restricted at the top-end. and for god's-sake, only have one CAT on there, just for emissions. ~Josh~
