Chris4141
I own an '02 Legacy L Wagon & I am closing in on 15K miles & was just wondering if the value of the $232 15K mile service was worth it. Until now, I've performed the oil/filter change (with sub filter/crush ring) and tire rotation myself. The dealer maintenance schedule is much more comprehensive than the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, which includes "Brake system service", "Minor fuel system service", "Brake Fluid Flush", and "lubrication of steering linkage and suspension". Can any of these things be done on my own & is it necessary that these items be done?
theotherskip
dealers are always looking for ways to pump their customers for cash. follow subaru's maintenance schedule provided in your owner's manual, and you can't go wrong, and it will keep you in good graces with your warranty. if you are comfortable tinkering on a car, you can do most of the things (if not all) on your own. i don't know specifically what is included in the 15k service, but it shouldn't be anything major.
