McBain
I'm fixin' to buy a 2005 Outback XT. Does anyone know if there is even going to be a 2006 Outback? I've noticed there is a 2006 Forester and Tribeka, but I can't find any info on the 2006 OUtback. Basically, I want to know what, if any, differences there will be between the 2005 and 2006 models. And it would be nice to know when the 2006's will start to arrive on dealers' lots. Anyone have any info?
Bmm001
Subaru is releasing the 2006 Tribeca and Forester this early because they are all new (the Tribeca) or significantly redesigned (Forester). There probably aren't too many changes to the rest of the lineup for 2006, so they probably won't be out until late July or August. That's usually how it goes around here at least. Hope this helps. McBain
Thanks for the reply, Brian. That certainly makes sense. I take it Subaru hasn't made any formal announcement then.
dullone
I just bought '05 Beaner. Dealer said the 06 Legacy/Outbacks are a month or two out and will have minimal changes. The BIG change was made in '05 and are on a 5 year design cycle.

I was very close to buying a 2004 a year ago, but when I saw the 2005 they had on the lot, I decided it was worth it to wait awhile and try to get a slightly used 2005. Looks better, better clearance. Oh, and the addition of the XT line.
