runs roughly after hard aceleration

Recommended Posts

i have a 94 liberty wagon awd automatic fitted new knock sensor after hard acceleration up to 110 klm per hour it starts to run roughly and no power happens on way to work and when I stop at traffic lights almost stalls feels like you have to push in the cluth peddle but its auto so slip into neutrel and takes about one or two minutes to clear itself ,have just seviced radiator due to a small brocken pipe near injectors ,had to drive couple of klm with no coolant and it ran verey rough due to no coolant on injector temp sensor but didnt cook motor and and also temp varies alot were this did not happen before radiator sevice fans start at 68 degres celcias new spark plugs fitted , had the computer checked and cleared that showed no faults, tried injector cleaner

Did they blead all the air out of the radiator when they serviced it? Did they replace the thermostat?

It may be worth resetting the ECU. If it saw some very high temps, the long term fuel trim memory might have gotten screwed up.

thanks for reaply replaced themostat but not shore how well he bled radiator but what is ECU again thanks Bill

The ECU is the computer for the car that runs all the engine management.

Here's a pic of where it's located (remember it'd be on the opposite side since you have a RHD car)

Another scan

Instructions to reset the ECU are on my site under notes & tips, engine related.
