My sunroof has been leaking for a little while now. It first started working on and off, now my sun roof doesn't work at all. I have a feeling all the water caused corrosion around the wirning going to the motor for the sun roof. Before if I hit the roof it would work. Must have just been moving wires around and eventually it would get a good connection. But now there is nothing. Any other ideas. And I eventually will tear my roof apart to visually see what the problem is. Does anyone know how long this job usually takes. I took a look to see what is involved in removing the ceiling and it doesn't look like much. Is that all there is, is just a few srews?

I have a 97 Legacy GT and my sunroof for a while would open but not close. It might be similar to your 92. I would take the mechanism off and crank it closed with an allen wrench. Then it stoped working all together. I eventually replaced the whole sunroof mechanism with one I got from a junkyard. I took the headliner out by removing the handles above the doors, the lights, the rear view mirrow, and the visors. Once all that was out the headliner came out pretty easy. Then there was like 12-16 studs welded to the roof of the car on the inside and the sunroof assy was attached to those studs. I dropped the whole unit out and put a new one in. My problem ended up being with the switch itself. When I opened up the control mechanism there was corrosion around the back side of the switch. I got a new switch assembly for $20 from another junkyard. It worked for a year or so but still leaked and eventually ruined the second switch as well. Now I sealed it with silicone and leave it closed.
