1999SubaruLegacy Posted July 12, 2005 Share Posted July 12, 2005 Having intermittent transmission trouble with a 1999 Legacy Wagon, where the tranny either bogs down (doesn't downshift after a turn) or shifts hard. The problem is becoming more frequent over the past couple weeks. I've been able to self-diagnose the trouble codes that are communicated via the flashing "AT OIL TEMP" light, and these codes are 45 and 38. I need to take it into a shop, but don't have a local Subaru expert that I know of. Does anyone know the likely cause of this behavior and/or anything I should suggest to the local Automatic Transmission Shop to avoid getting ripped off? Thanks!
