CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING AND DOES'NT EFFECT THE CAR RUNNING OR STARTING. IT HAS HAD AN EFFECT ON THE GAS MILEAGE. IT HAS GONE DOWN SINCE THE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I'LL START FROM THE BEGINNING. I BOUGHT THE CAR AND HAD A STARTING PROBLEM, IT WOULD START WITH A JUMP BUT NOT BY ITSELF. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC FRIEND WHO PUT A AMP TESTER ON THE STARTER AND FOUND IT WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN AT HIS HOUSE I STARTED THE CAR AND THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. WENT TO AUTO ZONE TO HAVE IT TESTED AND THEY SAID AIR FLOW AND SAID CHANGE THE MAF, WHICH I DID. NO CHANGE AT ALL. TOOK IT TO A TIRES PLUS WERE THEY READ THE CODE AND CAME UP WITH, MANUFACTUER CONTROLLED AIR METERING. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT I NEED TO CHANGE? HELP. Sorry my car is a 95 LEGACY LS AWD WAGON with a 2.2 engine and automatic

First of all Do NOT post in all caps! It's like you're yelling.

Second, you've provided zero information on the specific car, model, engine, etc.

Personally, I'd reset the ECU and see if the CEL goes away. Pull the battery cable for 30-45 min.
