Are you wanting to install a head unit that has XM, or a separate XM unit with FM modulator or similar?

Welcome to the addicting world of XM!!! Have 6 subscriptions between 2 of us. Just can't get enough!!

My recommendation would be to go here:

XM message board. There is a section on getting the help you are looking for. The guys there are pretty descent and should be able to give you some good advice. Ziggy who started the board also has a great online store where you can get virtually any accessory available. He lives in DC near XM's HQ and works closely with them.

I mounted the antenna on the forward area of the roof, using the rear-view mirror as a guide to center it, then routed the antenna cable underneath the windshield molding and brought it out at the bottom of the windshield near the wipers. The cable was then tucked under the cowling ahead of the windshield, in a way that the hood would not pinch it, and then into the engine compartment.

There is a rubber plug sealing a hole in the firewall; I used an Exacto knife to cut an "X" in it and then fed the cable through the center of the cut to get it into the passenger compartment.

Route the cable to your unit, bundle up the excess cable with wire ties and secure the cable under the dash and in the engine compartment with more ties as needed. It was easy.

thanks for the reply on the antenna routing...I just had not thought it out in my mind but was aware of the rubber plug for passing the cable thru to the inside...sounds like a clean install...regards...bill
