Got a 77 gl, does is have a catalitic converter or is that just a resinator? Plus for those who have modified their exhaust, what setup works/sounds best?

Also has anyone here used nitorus on there subies?

It is just a resonator. I have found stock is better that modifications and the stock exhausts usually outlast the car.

I removed my resonator and added a glasspack & side dump exhaust. Sounds wicked, and it actually improved responsiveness, and top end. The stock system really is pretty restrictive on these. (or maybe my stock muffler was plugged?) It's been going 4 years strong till recently when the stock y-pipe cracked. :(
