Which would you suggest: 2001 Outback 2.5L wagon (certified vehicle) with 68000 miles, 2002 Legacy GT sedan (I believe there were about 4 recalls that year) with just under 35000 miles, or 2003 Forester XS with 78000 miles, all within the same price range. cookie Posted August 1, 2005 Share Posted August 1, 2005 The Forester fits the bill for me for its size and carrying capacity. I assume they all have the same transmission? That could make a difference to me as I don't relly trust the automatics as much. Only the 2003 might have the latest head gaskets which would be a plus. On the other hand the phase 2 leak is not as big a problem and with goop in the early cars you get a 100,000 mile head gasket warranty. For me it would be the Forester, but it's your money. The 2003 Forester, I found out, has $2000 in body damage. Haven't heard back from the dealership yet on just exactly happened to the car. I think I may have to pass on that one. Geez. What's the scoup on the Legacy GT? I don't know much about this sedan. No it's not a wagon, for sure, but the one I have in mind is a 2002 and has 34000 miles on it. Asking price is $12900.
