The little rubber pad that goes over the clutch top ('96 Legacy Outback Wagon) slips something awful. I replaced it thinking that it was the older pad (that one had a small tear in the top left corner) but this one slips just as badly.

I tried Gorilla Glue but it didn't do the trick (and made a sticky mess - too hot outdoors right now).

Any suggestions to keep this pad in place, besides duct tape??? The top of the clutch mechanism is so slick, and the pad moves when I shift, then makes a weird ploppop when I release the clutch. It's not affecting the car, it's just damned annoying.
