RallyKeith
I bought a filter kit for the trans on my 96 Leg GT. It came with a cork gasket for the pan. The pan is sealed with silicon from the factory. Should I use the cork seal that came with the kit, or just re-seal it with silicon? Legacy777
You can use cork. I had a cork gasket that worked fine. You just need to make sure not to over torque the bolts, or the cork will squish out. On the flip side, you don't want it too loose either. lmdew
Check out the NAPA filter and pan gasket. The gasket is much better!
RallyKeith
Well, I used the cork gasket and I must have over tightened it. It leaks a bit out the back, and every time I look at it the bolts seem to be lose. Since it turns out the rear drive shaft seal leaks also, I think I'm just going to drop the pan and use silicon and maybe even a little blue loctite on the bolts.
