Hi,

I have a Loyale 1993 (no turbo) and when engine is at running temperature iginition has some cuttings. when it does it, the RPM gauge goes completely down (engine still turning as I don't clutch) and when it comes back the RPM gauge resume...

During thet time, all lights in the dash goes on (like if I stalled engine at a corner)

The distributor has been changed with no joy (not olny cap, the whole thing)

I've been able to limit problem (to get back to the garage) runnning engine under 2000rpm with heater maxed so cuttings were onlyfrom time to time instead of not letting me move the car...

The car has been at the garage since last friday and I'm begining to be desperate...

Something to suggest?

No overheating.

Looks like it helps by preventing engine to get up to normal temp.

About error codes, My check engine is on since I got the car without giving troubles (more than 40 000 km)

Do you think it can help or will I be filled with old error codes?

Got the car back.

I've been able to do 30 km without problems(to get back to work)... Encouraging...

Looks like it was rusted wires at the computer's connection.

Here in Quebec (Canada) there is so much snow and calcium... everithing is rusting.... I hate that...

Thank you very much for your support. I'll use the codes references you sent me as the Check Engine light is still on (like always) With that I might be able to find why...

This forum is absolutely great and is now saved into my favorites.

Hi,

Me again for the same problem that came back.....

I looked at the error codes:

32 Oxigen sensor (Looking under the car I discovered that it has been replaced by a non Subaru one so no sensor on it)

34 EGR Valve stuck on or off

Looking at the egr valve I saw that the rubber hose that goes from the valve to something on front (don't know what) was disconected and the hole had been blocked by somebody with some kind of gum (looks like the asphalt stuff you put under the car to protect it from rusting)

That stuff may have heated as the hole tha was suposed to be closed by this was in fact wide open.

I obstructed that again to see if it can help me but had no chance to give it a try yet.

Your opinion, can that hose cause me the problem I have? if yes is it better open or closed?

If I have to get the EGR valve changed, is it a big $$ repair?

Once again, thanks in advance for your support.

This morning I did 45 km without problem but the weather was cold (5 degrees celcuis ... arround 40 farhneight) and I am not sure the problem only happens when temp is hot.

At least the 2 times the problem began to happen was when outside temp was hot...

If you have any idea about it, please let me know. It's realy bad not to be able to trust your car...

Since last post, I did 5000 km without problem.

The only 2 things that are not the same as when I had troubles is temperature (It's not been hot since) and the fact that I did put a plug in the hose out of the EGR valve...

I think it's weather that help. For the first time in my life I fear the return of summer...
