thehorn
Hello, I am currently experiencing trouble with my 99 Legacy Outback. It has 72000km on it and in the past month the car has died three times on the road. The symptoms are, the AT OIL light flashes for about 30 seconds and then complete shut down of the car! The funny thing is two different mechanics have looked at the car, including a dealership mechanic, and both can not locate the problem. The car drives fine after it is towed to the shop. After the first incident, the car was driven for about 3 to 4 weeks before the next incident occured. The dealership mechanic said he could not locate any error messages. He thinks it may be the mass airflow unit that needs replacing, but he is not sure if that will solve the problem. He explained that the flashing AT OIL light is a sensor/electrical problem. Can anyone suggest what else to look at? Thanks
ShawnW
The dealer needs to plug their "SELECT MONITOR" into it. THe AT OIL light is coming on because theres a fault stored in the trans computer.
