new to sub 4x4 world need info

Recommended Posts

I have a 86 sub 4x4 with a 1.8 and looking for some help geting it off road ready. I happend to land on hatchpatrol.com and saw some awsome subies lifted with big rubber! Im not quite ready for a lift but I wouldnt mind geting a little more rubber than my stock rim will give. I have looked for larger rims to put tires on but cannot find any with the sub lug patern. Please contact me if you have any info! By the way my subs name is "EL TORO...THE BULL!"

With your stock 13" rim your not going to have much selection in tires.

Snow tires or an aggressive radial is the best your going to find.

Tons of threads about Pugeot rims and redrilling truck rims.

Try a search in the old school forum.

Does your 86 have the adjustable suspension?

Free lift if it does. (ok its a small lift)

Welcome to the board.

Your in the right place.

I just did a quick search in the "Old School" forum...This thread should help.

Look under your wheel well up front and see if your strut has these ajustment bolts just under the bottom of the spring.

If it does just crank it up. I'd suggest unloading the suspension and putting penetration oil on the bolt before you begin.
