What is the production date of the first STIs 2.5 sold in US?

Recommended Posts

I wish I could tell you... Even though I own one from the first shipment from Japan, I can't find any production date. I can tell you that I picked mine up in May of '03 and it probably takes a month on the boats to get them here so if I was going to guess mine was built in March, but that's a guess.

What do you mean by "USDM"? Is "late 2002" a good guess or some real info? What is the source of the info?

you must be new :)

welcome.

i work for subaru

i dont tend to make random guesses

earliest listing for replacment parts for STi

begins with STi production date 10/2002

this would mean the first STi's off of the production line

would have been stamped 10/2002

have other questions. let me know.

have fun

also...

i must point out that the production date of your vehicle is stamped into it.

open your drivers side front door.

back of the door sill..

there's a plate there with the production date stamped into it.

then you will know for sure when your car was produced.

When I get home I'll take a third look. I looked at both the plate on the door and the B pillar since that is where it is supposed to be. I didn't see it, but that deosn't mean I didn't miss it. :D
