Picked up 83 Brat : pics in post further down...

80k miles. shifter is tight like an 80k trans should be. jump seats/frame cut out, but still there. no belts or headrests.

it's a beige one this time. rusty. tailgate is salvageable, and taillights intact. t-tops okay. passenger door is crushed, window broken....

 

it was recovered previously during a drug bust.....

E. Her ex spent more money than they had at the bar, so a few... well, okay, several soobs is still better than what she went through before....

 

Update: ended up getting the brat towed home. couldn't keep it running. fuel wasn't coming through well, and you could smell the varnish. did run it for a while, and the motor sounded great (except for the exhaust leak) no oil leaks either. just over 86k on the clock. I drove it to the nearest gas station, but after so many starts, the battery was weraing down, and the brakes were nearly non-existant.... couldn't get it started after adding fuel, and discovered a nasty gas tank leak as well...

 

after getting it home though, it did fire up, and I put it into my driveway.

 

the guy even threw in a 3/4 full 20lb lp tank that was in the brat

Used to think my '86 was in bad shape, rust wise. Don't feel quite so bad about it now. Definetly a parts vehicle, by the looks of it. I'll send you a wish list, nothing major, mostly small items.......Tom

yep... see that spot under th rear... very bad gas leak...

drivers seat is leaning because the floor is rotted out .

 

the molding is in good shape though, so that will be saved (except for the passenger door door )

Easily an 8 in New England :rollin: Sweet!!! Can be registered in CT just like it is,believe it or not.

The bed in that looks better than my brat. However the wheel wells are FAR worse.

 

You should try to find a buyer for the roof, then the board can have a second hatchbrat

it's got the tan interior....

not sure if the strap handle is still there, but it's not blue.... I may have a blue one laying around though....

 

most likely I will be keeping the side molding for my turbo brat....
