Hey guys... I am replacing the timing belt on a relative's car and can't figure which notches on the timing cover are the cam sprocket alignment marks. I was given an all data print-out, but no pics and the timing belt rear cover has 2 marks at the 12 and 6 o'clock position from the front looking at the motor. Any help and/or pics would be great, TIA.....

What kind of car is it? Generally speaking:

Look in the timing inspection window on the top of the motor near the bellhousing - may have a rubber boot covering it.

Turn the crankshaft with a large wrench (22mm I think? 7/8" might work also ) Line it up with the three hash marks on the flywheel. NOT TDC mark.

I can't remember which side is the inner most timing belt - but start there. Line up the camshaft pulley mark with the 12 o'clock mark on the cover and install the belt. However you need to do it, make sure that it stay lined up - might take a couple of tries.

Rotate the engine one full turn - back to the timing marks on the flywheel. This will rotate that camshaft 180 degrees - pointing to 6 o'clock.

Install the other belt - with marks lined up to 12 o'clock again. Same deal.

I think that should do it.

I've probably missed something, and someone else will probably chime in.
