A/C removal

Recommended Posts

How hard could it be? Just have the system evacuated by a licensed shop and start removing all the parts. I like my A/C, but have "modified" it a bit so I can control when it works. Otherwise, rip it out and sell the parts.

Uhhhhhh.......sorry to hi-jack but, I really really need one of the little square Hitachi AC compressors that mounts in-board of the Alt. in most mountings.

Do either of U guys have one U want to part with?

And on the removal, I have pulled all but the compressor its self out of my EA82T, and now it runs 15* cooler than it did before. Geting that big AC rad. out of the way of the water rad. is one of the best things I did to my car.

There is something wrong with this picture... ask yourself why your car is running cooler without the condenser... is there something wrong with your cooling system? In Oregon, you should rarely need to use the A/C. When it isn't being used, there should really be no difference. Was it clogged with dirt/leaves/bugs? Anyway... this isn't all that important anyway. I just always need to know why things are happening.

xforxlifex - Good luck with the removal, although I doubt you'll need it. :)

I removed the A/C from the R/X recently. not to bad a job but you do need to pull the radiator to get the condenser out and the compressor is easyer to get off with the fan clutch out. good time to do T. belts too.

I am only running a single belt now but will be looking for a shorty to go around the p.s. and w.p.

good luck. ;)
