Guest subiegirl
(Just realized I should have posted this here instead of the Newer Subaru's board) 91 Loyale smoke pouring out of passenger's side front tire, reeks of brakes My shop guy had told me that Loyals have a parking brake assembly on the passenger's front tire and I was to pry the arm to disengage the parking brake as a temp fix. All I saw was a coil and bolt assembly and wanted to check before prying the wrong thing. Make any sense to you? If so- I could use a step by step on this. yeah, its rusty- good ol' Vermont. Thanks again

Guest calebz
Loyale has a parking brake connection on both left and right front discs. its just a cable activated lever that engages the brakes when you pull the lever inside the car.. sounds like you have a brake draggin.. as to the why, it could be the parking brake actuator, but it could also(and more likely in my opinion) be a crapped out caliper. the only way to find out is to take it apart and look.
