i have a 92 loyale with a engine that took a poo, and a 91 legacy junker with a good engine. i am doin the swap soon, and i am looking for some advice from anyone who has successfully done the swap. i know where to get the adapter plate and flywheel, could anyone give me step by step directions?, and perhaps a list of everything i need. I am fully capable of doing it on my own, but the loyale is my daily driver and i need it on the road as soon as possible. let alone i need my 4x4 fix, and it is snowing as we speak, wich only happens once or so a year.

here is some info:

92 loyale= 4 in. lift, 15 in. pugs, d/r 5 speed out of a 87 gl, fuel inj.

91 legacy= ej22, stock, 5 speed, the norm.

if anyone has the ecu swap mastered and could give me some direction with that i would greatly appreciate it. and also, if anyoone has run into any problems adapting anything ie., radiator, hoses, fuel line(there looks like 3 on the legacy, and one on the loyale?) clutch cable, throttle cable, etc.

thank you to anyone in advance for helping me out. ben.

Get a radiator for the Legacy. It will fit in the Loyale with a little bit of fanagling, and it cools WAAAAAAY better than any EA82 radiator.

Your throttle cable will work fine. It's barely long enough, but it will work.

Just take your time with the wiring. It's really not that challenging, it just takes a little work.

Your SPFI fuel pump is adequate. The lines hook right up.

Any other specific questions?

Good luck with the swap!

Snowman, how'd you get the Leg rad to fit? got any pictures, i'd rather use that then the EA-82 one.

As far as the swap, Do a search, then if you have any questions feel free to ask. there are a few threads that the information has been condensed into a very clear and concise format.

Get a rad from a 90-92 legacy. They changed them in 93, and those won't work.

The little mounting doo-hickeys on the bottom are the same as the EA82 rad, and even have the same spacing. They are off to the side an inch or so, so the rad sits to the side a bit, but it still fits and works fine. The legacy rad is also about an inch taller. I was able to bend the top radiator support for a better fit, and the rad is temporarily zip-tied to the support, but I'm going to make some nice metal brackets for it to bolt to in a couple weeks. There's no room behind the rad for a fan, so I placed an electric fan in front, which is more than adequate, but I'll add a second one soon just for good measure.

Here you can sort of get the basic idea:

Here you can see the tight clearance. There's maybe an inch between the alternator pulley and the rad, but it does fit.
