legacy dome light

I have a 96 Legacy and I have to change the dome light every 2 months (if not every month) I cant seem to find out why it burns out.

Convert to white LEDs
(costly but should last forever)

if it were a voltage problem you would be burning out
more lamps than just this one

If so try a different source, I had a string of brake/tailights that burned out every 2-3 months and went through 3 double packs (in 8 months), then I happened to purchase some at a different store, hasn't burned out yet after 2 years.
