But i cant Figure out how to get the Dash Face off intact , is there some special way i gotta do this ? im going to the bone yard this weekend with Steve ( TROGDOR ) and was planning on picking up a New Dash Face non broken , i dont want to break the thing trying to get it out. Also , if anyone has a Turbo XT Hood they know of thats in good shape let me know.

i already have the Stereo , This one is going in my 92 Escort LX-E

But im going to buy something Simular for the XT before terribly long and would like to Mount it in the Dash where the stock radio is , with a Clean look. are there any aftermarket Radio install kits for the XT ? or am i going to have to fab something myself.

Not a problem , i have worked with fiber glass before

I know these may seem like stupid questions , but i am new to the subaru world . i love my XT and i want it to kick rump roast !!

If anyone wants to see the Escort i have here is the link , it is Hosted on ESCORTRACING.COM and has been Reasonably Moddified. i even custom Built a Center Console able to accept a 5" LCD moniter i think you guys and gals might like it.

Simular Work is in store for my XT.

Taking out the dash plate is a real pain. There is a screw on the d-side far left vent.

The trip computer/ clock (thing right above the radio) has a cover on it that pops off. There is a screw in there that you'll need to take out as well. The thing will then pry out with some gentle movements with a screw driver on the top and bottom (it is held on by plastic holds as well)

You'll next need to take the radio out. A bent screwdriver (you can get one at Sears for like $1) is about all that'll work to take the two screws holding it in.

Once the radio is out there are some screws holding the trim cover on that you'll need to remove and you should be home free.

Every cover I have ever seen had something wrong with it so you may have a tough time finding one.

I know off two XT turbo hoods at a yard in PA (EZ Pull a Part). Not positive on the condition but they were there this past Saturday.

Just buy the dash piece new. I had to for my 88 XT. It is still available from Subaru. Have fun getting it out without breaking it. It has 3 metal clips. Two on top and one to the bottom left side right below where the door chime is at. I made my own bracket out of the orginal radio mounting bracket. A little welding and you can make anything!
