I was camping this weekend and found a mid 80's green Brat. I ask the owner what was wrong and he showed me the rust(through the rear fenders) that destoyed the rear shock mounts. Mechanically the car is sound ( as far as I know), but are rear fender pieces available that can be welded in ? Has anyone repaired this type of rust damage before ?

fixable? depends on what you're trying to do. sounds like you're in an area that doesn't fare well for soobies, so finding the rust free parts might be difficult. no aftermarket parts for that area....

if you just want a brat to drive around it, you can weld in new custom supports, etc.....
