My Hatch is still pushing coolant out the overflow tube, so I went to the wrecking yard and picked up an overflow tank from an EA82 car. Hope it works, Tim

How full are you filling the radiator? Ea81 rads aren't suppose to be filled up to the top, only till about an inch or inch and half from the top. Hope that it isn't anything serious. Catch ya Laters.

my turbo brat did the same thing after i filled it up all the way, then it stopped.

if you look into the radiator fill hole, you will see a tab sticking out a inch or 2 down inside. that's the fill line....

This thing is pushing the AF out to the point where it is getting hot!!! I'm going to replace the 88ºc thermostat with a 180ºf one, hopefully that will put it right on the operating temp line. Does anyone know what the correct pressure is for the cap??? Thanks, Tim

I think I may have "burped" it. Left the cap off, then idled it to warm. As I reved it up, it "foamed" up the AF. When I let off it pushed AF out until the level seemed to even out. Still seems kind of low but I'm going to keep a close eye on it for a couple of days. 13lb is the cap I have on it. Tim

Having the over flow tank is no problem as long as your keeping your cool, and so is your sub. I stuck a water bottle on my brat and its working great, even siphons it back in when things cool off, my radiator is do for replacing soon:eek:

I replaced a non working thermoswitch with one that closes at 120 degrees, so the fan comes on nice and early:rollin:

I took one out of a civic, late model one, they are narrow, and it fits in there nice. I have it resting on the lower radiator hose, no ties or anything, and it never moves. Next time you go to j-yard, find a honda, the one you want, has a warning message of somesort that is attached to the cap of it. [something like a round style bib} that works fine, coolant goes in, and goes back out to the radiator when it cools off. I had the same foaming problem also[83 gl] i am gonna flush the radiator again, put in a new thermostat, and mix the coolant with Distilled water this time, i heard that makes a big difference
