ea82t name that part, black box behind glovebox

as title states, what is the little black box for behind the glovebox with 7 wires?
it seems to do nothing as car functions the same without it

is it the bell for when your seatbelt isn't on and the car must tell you?


I've never owned an ea82, but I think thats where the ea81's beeper is.

I immediately disconnected the dinger when I test-drove the car

if it's for the knock controller, then why would an '87 SPFI wagon have it? :confused:

box about an inch tall, 4" W, 2-3" deep?

Not a knock conroller, the '89 ignition conrol is managed by the ecu.
