Just want you guys to know that MeekyMouse (Tony) is A-OK in my book. I am purchasing the lights from him from SVXperts old hatch and he re wired them, sent them right away and they were wrapped in bubbletape and foam peanuts. They got here so quick and I didn't even pay him yet. And on top of it all, They were a good price. Thanks again, Boz

On Another Note:

Does anyone else think that we should keep a running post of good transactions/bad transactions with names? (like in a person's profile you can leave feedback that they can't change but maybe a moderator could moderate if needed) Or is it just me? It doesn't have to state what was purchased or prices or anything but to say that on such and such a date I made a transaction with "boardname" and it went extremely well, quick delivery etc... I guess it would be just like the feedback you get or receive from ebay. That way, we know who we can trust and who to look out for. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I, for one, don't think that the second part of your post is necessary. Despite that I ama relative newcomer to the board, it has been quite easy to ascertain who is trustworthy and who isn't. It's pretty much common knowledge. I don't see much reason to slur someone's reputation, especially if things are out of that person's control. If someone rips a board member off, word will get around quickly enough (a discrete way would be via PM's) without having to worry about litigation for libel or defamation of character against the board itself as the vehicle for such actions. My .02.

Call me naive, but I'd be just as happy doing a bit of research on whoever I'm sellin' or buyin' from. I'd prefer thinking that everybody's intentions start out honest at least, and go from there.

Gettin' a database of previous "transactions" might make it a lot easier and faster to figure out someone's reputation... but I could see where it could sour things up a bit, and allow people's attitudes to grind together a bit.

Pro's and con's :D

Well ok, I see where this is headed. No problem. I just thought it would make life easier for some of the new people. I've been around long enough to know the regulars but when you start dealing with the new people you have no idea who they are and what they are about and someone has to be the first. Well, like I said, No big deal.

Tim, As for emailing the moderators, It's a good idea in the perspective that you are thinking but don't forget the flip side. There are people on this board who are still waiting for parts from people on this board who are known to be reputable. When months and months pass by with no parts, no refund, and either no answer or just excuses then it becomes just plain ridiculous.

General Consensus says we don't need it then I will go with that.

Thanks for the honest imput guys/gals/aliens. Boz

from the "middle of the road" perspective... dare i assume that as I'm not a "founding father" and am not a "rookie" that i feel comfy with the idea of not keeping a "list" as there does seem to be the pattern of truth that overrides the worries of folks.

I grew up with the belief that your word is your honor ... and I still strongly shine that light on anything i deal with.

Yeah I do know I can (and am) a space cadet at times.... (not an excuse more a matter of fact) but, I see no real community benifit for have such a list.

after all we do have a going list of "who is what ID in ebay" and dare i suggest common sense says that you can look up anyones bay of E name and see their transaction feedback.

thats without even asking a boardmember about the truth behind the "joe shmow Show" and whether or not you think you should watch it.

so is that coheirent and concice enough? Perhaps i put foot in mouth, eh..... hope not.

BTW I still haven't lost faith in the disappearance of a newlywed member.... relate it to my "trusting to a fault" - its my eternal optimism. I refuse to loose hope as well.

I hope its not me Rob :)

Ive pissed some people off in the past when I sold stuff on the board. Mostly my own stupid procrastination got me in trouble. Except for the problem i had with Corky (still feel bad about that).

I try not to do business on the board much anymore, cause everyone here is my friend, and I hate screwing my friends. As far as buying from others, i have delt with alot of people and everyone ive delt with has been top notch. A few on my list of good are:

Chef_Tim

Edrach (four stars for Ed, he's the MAN!)

Bearugardhooligan (or however you spell it)

and recently added to my list is Clantieri cause he sent me a new bumper for my Brat which i got today! :)

There are some others, and i thank you all. There has only been a few people ive heard of that are sour. If you end up getting a raw deal with a board member, it might be a good idea to PM the moderators.

PS-Theres only one person from the board I'll never do biz with again. Most know who.

Probably the person who never sent my cargo cover :madder:

Come to think of it... I have not yet received my subaru owners do it on all 4 sticker :cornfuzz: (not saying that one is a rip though)

If we did have a rating system... whats to keep a person from making extra accounts and making fake purchases from themselves to rack it up??

The word of mouth and experience works very well I think.

People who have earned a very good reputation in my book:

Edrach

DrRX

HondaSucks

Caboobaroo

BajaVWScoobnut

Skip

RichieRich

I'm sure ive completed business with more people, but those 7 always came through with my money or parts or labor. And Andrew has had to come up with over $1800 over the past year  Not sure how much ive sent his way... over $2000 im sure

I'll second that. His free XT6 is still churning it up and about to go for a nice 1400 mile weekend to the SVX/XT Smokies meet. Tony Rocks:headbang: !!!! Just wish he'd make it up to some of the PB meets or Carlisle next year. I definately owe him a drink or two.
