how to rewind EA82 cargo covers?

Recommended Posts

I just fixed mine the other day. Took about 30 minutes.

Push the endcap down until you see the locking pin. Get a nail or something and punch it thru. Now do the other side too. Roll it up all nice and square and keep it like that. Throw a couple big rubber bands on it or have someone hold it. Get some vise-grips or pliers and twist one of the ends up until it has some good tension on it. Have someone hold the tension while you attach the opposite endcap. Your'e gonna have to guess about how much tension to put on the spring. I twisted it up moderately tight and it works fine. Once the one endcap is on, you can release the vise-grips, and put the other endcap back on. Done.:D

If I had a workbench and a punch it probably would only take 15 minutes or so. I did it in my kitchen with a nail, some pliers, and a few beers.:drunk:
