woohoo, wheel bearing changed

Recommended Posts

well i grabbed another spindle outa the scrap yard.. had a good wheel bearing.. pulled mine apart. the cv nut was torqued to 200lbs, don't know why.. it took my torque wrench and teh handle off my handyman jack as a pry bar to get it off.. after that it was smooth sailing..

the old one had no grease in it at all.. was pretty dry, rusted and toasted.. but i repacked the new one, greased everything so it would all slide back together easy. and bam done in an hour..

my first wheel bearing change in a soob.. kinda did it the easy way by just changin the whole spindle but eh, it worked :) car is as quite as a new one drivin down the road now, no grindin, poppin, or shakin.. and it takes alot less pedal to get the thing movin, hehe..

now its time to tackle the stripped out bolts in the exhaust, replace 2 headlights, 1 brake light, and that front marker lens and it should apss inspection
