Where to buy EA82T Gasket Set?

Recommended Posts

I get mine over at Cut Rate Auto Parts on Capitol Blvd. in Olympia. If I was in Sacremento, I would call your favorite parts (auto) stores and ask for prices and makers. As sticker shock is setting in, quickly call the dealer and get a price, suddenly all the others will be a bargain. Then pick a brand name you trust.

the folks that have the subaru EA82 gasket sets have a sight and i ordered the "head set" for replaceing a set of heads on a turbo. the kit cost $88. total with shipping.

I installed the set. discovered a leaky exhaust or so I thought. Called them and asked how good their parts warrantty is as when i took the head off the gasket seperated in two areas.

They said without seeing it and the fact that I had the engine running a maximum of 6-8 minutes total that they wouldn't make a call on it until they had a chance to look at it.

A week later I recieved an email with an appalogy and an offer to crdit my card or send a new one in its place... i of course took the new one and installed it. Well its in a nice and slick but, we narrowd the leak down to a crack somewhere in the block :>(

brand of stuff some is felpro and Apex in California

Bought a complete valve-grind gasket set thru the local parts store, around $125.00. Had every gasket in it from the head gasket out, for carbed, SPFI, MPFI, and Turbo gaskets, including the cam seals. Performance Automotive, part of the Bumper-to-Bumper chain.

These prices are current from Emily at CCR as of 10/10/03.

I'm doing the same thing with my EA82T.

Cam seals - 2 @ 5.50

Cam o-rings - 2 @ 2.77

Cam tower o-rings - 2 @ 2.20

Timing belt tensioners, 23.45 & 23.67

Idler bearing - 44.75

Timing belts - 21.56 & 25.16

Valve cover gaskets - 4.40 & 3.20

Valve cover bolt seals - 9 @ 1.50

Front main seal - 5.05

Rear main seal - 11.10

Water pump - 29.95

Oil pump - 59.95

Oil pump gasket - 3.95

Oil pan gasket - 3.66

Intake manifold gaskets - 2 @ 6.20

Valve stem seals (optional) 15.00/set

Hope this helps. The prices seem competitive with local prices, and it's the same gaskets and such they use for their rebuilds.

See anything I missed?

Regards,

Jay

I have done business with both GasketPro and CCR Inc. I can recommend both places. Headgasket is different between turbo and N/A. I would use a turbo gasket on an N/A car, but not the other way around. Definately only use a turbo headgasket from Subaru. The only genuine part that I insist on using.

Good luck!

Maybe I can give you a hand while I'm out there?
