Saw Two More Older Subaru's

Recommended Posts

Two nights ago, there was a grey GL sedan sitting on campus. Interior was good, exterior wasn't shabby excluding the front fenders... they had the typical rust. Front wheel drive, though, and automatic. Would be in decent shape, if the owner swapped out the fenders. Can't say I like the auto & fwd, though.

This morning, as I was driving my fiance to clinical (her Saturn was acting up), I saw a beautiful red wagon pass by me. It was in heavy traffic, as we were turning left into the school, so I didn't get much more than a glance at the front and the driver's side... the quick glance I got said "Beautiful & rust free," though. I haven't gotten good enough to tell a GL from a DL from a Loyale yet, either, at least without walking around the car :D.

Do you think it's a little over-kill to post a sign on the sign of the road that says "I want your red Subaru wagon!" :brow:?

I've come to the conclusion that there's a lot of Subaru drivers out here in the Northeast, or at least around Albany. I don't think any of 'em know about usmb, though... or, they just aren't Subaru lovers :boohoo:

There's nothing wrong with it, the worst that can happen is you'll get a funny look and a nasty reply. You can tell a GL from a DL (EA82 series) by looking at the headlights, the GLs and GL10s have the single headlights and the DLs have the quad setup. For EA81s, the DLs had round lights and the GLs still had quads, or single square lights (from '80-81). There is practically no difference between a Loyale and a GL or GL-10. The only way to tell is to look at the back. And all GL-10s had sunroofs, but sunroofs were optional on the GL and Loyale...so if you see a roof it's probably but not certainly on a GL10. Sorry if that was a little long-winded--it's actually quite basic and I expect someone will mention the GLF and STD and other variations within a couple minutes.
