Is is possible for a 2000 Forester to have come with a DOHC engine?

Recommended Posts

The carfax for VIN JF1SF635XYH731667 shows a DOHC. Is Carfax wrong?

"2.5L H4 PFI DOHC 16V"

Thanx

While I am unfamiliar with Forester engine changeovers, many VIN decoders seem confused by Subaru VINs. My insurance company keeps listing my wife's OBW as LL Bean and it is not.

I dunno

Good way to tell, look under the hood. 1998 was the ONLY US year the Forester came with a DOHC.
