JonOfScio Posted October 31, 2003 Share Posted October 31, 2003 I found some really sweet new engine paint. It's not advertised as such, but says that it's good for up to 500 degrees fehrenheit. I painted my manifold and some of my PCV system components with it. Later on, my block/heads will be clear coated after being cleaned, and my valve covers will be black. Caboobaroo Posted November 1, 2003 Share Posted November 1, 2003 I found that if I glass bead the surface of an object,it seems to hold the paint better. I did that to my heads of my EA71. My block, I just used a few cans of engine dereaser and a wire brush followed by the pressure washer. It took me a couple of hours but the paint is sticking really nicely.
