bleakhorizon Posted November 2, 2003 Share Posted November 2, 2003 OK i have a buddy that is having me drive his car so it dont freeze to the ground (wyoming suck btw) anyway its an 83 wagon with a ea81 and an auto with electric 4wd.... i was wondering if there was anything i could check with the engine cause i runs awesome but it takes about 5 seconds to cross a 2 lane street:banghead: with it at WOT. its only got 116k on it but im going to check the compression.....on another topic what are the valve adjustment service intervals for soobs Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The fact that it's a carbbed motor making 80 odd hp would be the other. Other than that I would check the timing, check the spark plugs, they can make a car gutless while not making them run rough. Somewhere in the region of 75%, and when you make 80 horses, thats only 20 horses making it to the wheels. I had an NA auto wagon, it was seriously gutless. My Gen 1 Brat with a 1600 and a stick was faster, and the motor in it was on it's way out. There is only one auto that I've liked, and thats in my Turbo, it's out of an NA car, and I played around with the modulator n stuff, but don't know what I did to it, when it shifts from 1st to 2nd it chirps the tires, and takes off like a bat outa hell, and it's real consistant on the shifts too.
