new water pump and it runs hotter??

Recommended Posts

ok, as most of ya know, i swapped in an engine that had sat for at least a good solid 4 years if not more..

that water pump worked, so i ran it for a day, engine temp ran at the 2nd bar on an ea81 temp gauge.. but the bearing was outa it and woblin makin noise, so i got a new one..

the new one runs a about this much ( I-I ) above that 2nd bar on the temp gauge now..

any particular reason? lol i can't seem to figure it out.. it doesn't overheat or get close so i'm not worryin about it, just seems a little strange to me..

i left the same thermostat in there also..

the hoses running into the firewall go to your heater core. If you diconnect those, well it'll get a little chilly in the winter time. Yes do replace your t-stat. It will help with coolant flow which will keep your engine temp down. Like LostWater said, he replaces his once a year which I would also recommend.
