My thought is whether a SPFI could be mounted sideways ie throttle body opening is horizontal rather than vertical. This would allow the the vertical runners of the intake to be lengthened and increase low end torque. By turning the throttle body you can get many inches of added height without touching the hood. So would the spray pattern be affected significantly? The air flow would be the same. It still needs to turn a 90 degree angle. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nug Posted November 5, 2003 Share Posted November 5, 2003 With the engine running, air is gonna suck that fuel in and it's gonna go where it needs to, as long as whatever you're planning doesn't have many sharp turns (I'm having trouble turning the pictures and voices in my head into readable sentences right now, so I'll leave it to someone else). You just have to pay attention to where your connections will be, along with your TPS, Idle Speed thingy, for future ease of maintenace.
