The electric choke has a plastic cap and a small blade terminal just like the hitachi does, I just used the same wire it couldn't be any easier. You may have to adjust the choke afterwards a little like I had to once the weather got cold. Hope this helped, Brian.

Doesn't matter - you can use either - depending on what kind of choke you want. Also - many DGEV's are labeled as DGAV's probably because they were rebuilt by weber, and switched. But the casting still says DGAV. So it's all really a mess - you can't actually tell just by the writing which one a carb is. You just have to look at the choke to tell.

There's also manual choke ones out there, and conversion kits to make the others manual.

thx all, but

this is what i need to know, how reliable is the set up....?

with the chokes, is there a difference in cold weather starting & warm up compared to the hitachi? basically if it's a pain in the *ss to get started & warm up, I have a problem justifying it.

I'm looking to do this conversion for an event (GPS rally in N. AZ) which is at 6k ft+ and most likely will have snow on the ground.

don't wan't to be on the start ramp stalling out, wanna do good for us 'classic sube' enthusiasts...:headbang:
