I've heard that you can swap the rear diff on the EA series cars to the front. What does this entail:confused: ??? I'd sure like to have a front LSD w/o spending bookoo bucks on it so maybe I'll just put another rear diff in the front. I'm going to be lifting my EA81 wagon atleast 4 inches to start with so............ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Numbchux Posted October 19, 2006 Share Posted October 19, 2006 the only way to use a rear diff in the front, is to put at least 6" of custom lift into the car, and put a divorced (usually nissan, but suzuki would work too) transfer case behind your stock transmission. then mount a rear diff under the transmission/engine. BUT, if you swap to a 5-speed transmission, any aftermarket front LSD for a newer 5-speed (i.e. WRX) would work just fine. you'd probably also have to swap the inner joints on your axles, since the spline count would be different...but it could be done.
